Our group have chosen to create an app that will allow people to gain an experience as a local. Our app will enable people to walk around the city and see only things local would notice, we decided that tourists always end going to see the same things in all these different cities so we wanted to give them a different experience, using our app will allow them to gain points which will go towards discounts and prizes

We started to brainstorm ideas which helped us refine our idea more and worked towards our presentation.

Notes from my note book

We each set one another tasks so that all of our group has some work to do. My job was create a hand drawn map for the app one that would be used with location finder to show user around Edinburgh. I first researched some different apps so that I would have a better understanding of our concept.

During research we found out that most mobile apps for US based which mad our concept stronger as we would be bring a “city app” to Scotland.

I then did some research on different types of maps so that I had some inspiration for the design.

We focused on the Merchiston area for our Map and added the photographs taken by Sabrina to give more context to how it would work. Once you click the location the map will give you directions to the place and once see and found it’ll turn coloured.

Working in a group has helped me to build up my team working skills. I really enjoyed this project as it was fast paced and allowed a lot of creative freedom.
